A magical winter wedding at Gaynes Park

Gayne’s Park Wedding Feature

Happy first anniversary to this cool couple! A year ago today Jo & Danny got married at Gayne’s Park, one of my favourite Essex wedding venues. An Essex Wedding magazine have featured their wedding in their next issue, which goes out tomorrow… this wedding was styled so beautifully, it really is an inspiration to anyone planning a winter wedding so do check it out if you are currently planning a winter wedding & need some inspo!

They kept the theme light, elegant with neutral colours & went for centre pieces full of beautiful roses, gypsophila and eucalyptus.

Complimented perfectly with a naked cake, also decorated with matching fresh flowers, sitting beautifully on a wooden personalised log. Jo made the place names herself using ivory pearlescent card, twine and wooden heart buttons she purchased online.

On popping the question, here’s what Jo said (I absolutely love this - it’s like something from a romance novel)…

He told me that he had arranged a surprise for my birthday, and that we needed to be at the old fish market at 6pm. We slowly headed back to our hotel from Piazza San Marco so that we could get ready for the evening, however just before we reached the hotel, he suggested we get another drink – obviously needed a little more dutch courage. We got ready and made our way over the Rialto bridge towards the fish market. When we arrived we were greeted by a tour guide and a private water taxi, complete with prosecco on ice and some cicchetti. We boarded the boat, cracked open the bottle and spent the next 90 minutes venturing down various canals, seeing and hearing about some of the most famous buildings in the floating city and how the city was built.

The sun had just set as we made our way down the Grand Canal. As we reached Piazza San Marco, Danny declared that he had a question to ask, whilst pulling a ring box out of his pocket and getting down on one knee. It was a complete surprise – I just thought the tour was for a birthday treat

Jo wore a Enzoani dress called ‘Lavender’ in Ivory/Nude, and customised it slightly by removing the nude layer beneath the top layer of the skirt to make the skirt completely ivory whilst still maintaining the nude ‘illusion’ look on the top part. Check out Jo’s stunning shoes too (Jimmy Choo Annie 100 sandals in Anthracite).

The sun shone through the orangery during their ceremony, filling the room with beautiful natural light as they said their vowels.

They walked out to all of their friends cheering & tonnes of confetti! Confetti shots are one of my personal favourites!

We managed to get some couple portraits just before it got dark, timing & working quickly is everything at a winter wedding when you have less day light to play with.

They enjoyed their wedding breakfast with all their guests & some hilarious speeches after. The atmosphere was alive, full of fun & love for these two.

They celebrated all night long, partying hard on the dance floor. This was an epic wedding! so much fun, beauty & love.
